Cod Kimball homestead
Nick-named 'Cod' because of his constant comments about the Cape Cod area of the U.S., a place he apparently enjoyed, Kimball homsteaded the property on the west side of the road overlooking Pelican Brook. Today, under different ownership, the setting is still charmingly attractive and well-kept. Stucco now covers the old homestead wooden/log frame. Kimball Lake, one of the lakes of the Ossawinamakee Chain, was named after Cod Kimball - one of the sites highlighted in the second set of Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway Playing Cards.
