Colorful statuary coming soon to Linda Ulland Memorial Gardens

The Linda Ulland Memorial Gardens, in the second phase of construction, is awaiting installation in early July of new and fun statuary illustrating the uniqueness of each variety of gardens. The statuary will be child-friendly and interactive. Babe The Blue Ox will carry examples of fresh local foods grown in area community gardens. A butterfly bench will enhance the butterfly garden, and so will a large chrysalis statue and a lion head drinking fountain. Local artisans, including well-known sculptor, Josh Porter of Avalon Sculpture, created the statuary. All the equipment will meet current safety codes.

Find the gardens next to the entrance to the US Army Corps Dam and park in the Crosslake Recreation Area, Crosslake, MN.

Anyone who wishes to donate to the gardens can send check to the Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway, PO Box 401, Pequot Lakes, MN, 56472. Help in the form of volunteerism is also greatly appreciated; interested parties can call Hodapp at the Crosslake Corps of Engineers office at 651-290-5790.
