If you’re looking for a good date, here’s a darn good one for you. November 12, 2025, 5-8pm. Put it on your calendar now so you don’t forget. You’ll be heading to Bites Pub and Grub in Pine River. On this date, wearing your favorite Paul Bunyan plaid shirt is perfect for the occasion.
Yes, indeed, it’s the annual dinner meeting you’ve heard about from your friends and neighbors who have attended before. The Paul Bunyan Scenic Byway Association has a knack for making an annual dinner meeting feel sort of party-like while still getting all the important things done too.
The November 12 annual dinner event this year might rival a few of the previous memory-making get-togethers, and the cost is just $35/each. The guest speaker is Ian Ringgenberg, an intriguing fellow with a home-spun wit and an affinity for Paul Bunyan, joyfully displayed in his 2025 online article for Racket, “What’s the Deal with Paul Bunyan?” Find out what brought him to this conclusion, “Paul Bunyan casts a giant shadow across the American imagination, and it’s doubly long in Minnesota.”
But, wait, there’s more. During the social hour enjoy casual viewing of videos about two of the Byway route’s jurisdictions. Then, hear about the state scenic byway programs from Minnesota’s State Scenic Byways Coordinator, find out more about the Byway’s scholarship program, catch up on what’s happening at the Cross Lake USACE Campground and be inspired by some of the upcoming 2026 projects.
Of course, any good date has a memorable ending. And, so does this one. Bunyan plaid wrapped door prizes, and yes, the unexpected surprise too.
You can register right now for the November 12 annual dinner meeting. Send an email with your name, phone number and the number of people attending to info@paulbunyanscenicbyway.org. Questions? Call 218-821-0021.
